Sometimes an employer or a university may request verification of your results certificate before offering a job or place. The British Council can help in verifying your IGCSE, International GCSE and A- and AS-level certificates if required. You can find details of all our post-exam services below: 

Verification

BRITISH COUNCIL VERIFICATION

If you are a student at a school in Yemen, we will verify certificates for the following fees:

  • 10,000 YR for each original certificate
  • 5,000 YR for each copy.

If you are not a student at one of Yemeni's schools, we will start by checking our international data, for which we will charge the same fees as above. However, if we have to contact the exam board to verify their results, we will charge 10,000 YR for this service.

Any students who would like to verify a certificate before this year will have to go through a verification process in which we have to contact the exam board. The fee for this service is 10,000 YR.

EXAM BOARD VERIFICATION

• For Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) candidates: download and complete the verfication form below, and then return it to the British Council. It currently costs US$50 to have your results verified by CIE.

• For Pearson Edexcel candidates: fill in the online certificate services form below. You need to pay online for this service.

Mistakes and changes

Occasionally, a form or certificate may contain incorrect or incomplete information, such as a mistake with the spelling of your name, address, date of birth or other information. This service is available for free before issuing the original certificates after that this service will be subject to a fee of $60.

If you are a school student, tell your teacher or school exams co-ordinator as soon as possible about any mistakes.

Certifying statements

This service is available when the university you are applying to requests to receive your results directly from the examining board.

• For Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) candidates: download and complete the certifying statement form below and then return it to the British Council.

This service currently costs US$120.

• For Pearson Edexcel candidates: fill in the online certificate services form below. You need to pay online for this service.

Lost certificates

If you have lost your exam results certificate, or need another copy of your results, we can issue you with a certifying statement.

Access to scripts

Before applying to have your paper remarked, you can request copies of your exam scripts. This may help you decide whether to go ahead with re-marking, or whether a retake is the better option. 

For schools and exam officers: You can apply to access original scripts to support teaching and learning. However, Enquiries About Results (EAR) requests cannot be carried out on any papers following this application.
