British Council

The British Council is dedicated to supporting all forms of English language learning. We have decades of experience helping institutions and the Ministry of Education to achieve their language goals. We also work directly with teachers through online and face-to-face teacher training.

Our work with the Ministry of Education

We work with the Ministry of Education to support the teaching of English within the Yemen education system.

In line with the Memorandum Of Understanding (supporting the teaching and learning of English in schools), we conducted a series of teacher training courses. The courses were very successful and over 160 teachers and teacher trainers attended. The intensive programme included effective teaching methods for primary, secondary and tertiary levels, using different learning technologies.

To continue the programme, trainers were encouraged to cascade the courses to other teachers. The course is planned to reach 2,000 teachers by the end of 2014.

Our work with schools

We work with individual schools to provide tailored teacher training programmes for staff, which includes face-to-face and online training.

For more information please email contact us.

We work with teachers through our English Language Teaching Professionals Network (ELTPN). The ELTPN provides face-to-face and online training workshops and information on the latest developments in ELT.
